Before you read the legal stuff — here's the honest version.

We know privacy policies are usually written by lawyers to protect companies, not people. Long paragraphs full of legal language designed to confuse you into accepting things you'd never agree to if you understood them. This one is different.

JannahCall was built by a Muslim, for Muslims. The Ummah is not a market to exploit. Your deen is not a data point to sell. Your prayer habits, your community, your personal information — none of it will ever be used against you or without your knowledge.

We do not sell your data. We do not run popup ads, banner ads, or third party advertising. We do not share your information with marketers. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We collect only what we absolutely need to make JannahCall work — and nothing more.

We built this platform on a founding principle: the Ummah deserves a space they can trust completely. Every decision we make about data starts with that principle. Not with profit. Not with growth targets. With trust.

1. What information we collect

What you give us when you sign up

  • Name — so your profile is real and personalized
  • Email address — for account access and important notifications only
  • Phone number — for SMS verification. One-time use for authentication only.
  • Username and password — to create and protect your account

What the app collects automatically

  • Location — only to calculate your local prayer times. Not stored long-term.
  • Device information — device type, OS, app version. Used for troubleshooting only.
  • App usage data — which features you use. Used only to improve the app. Not sold. Not shared.

Payment data

Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

2. How we use your information

  • Create and secure your account
  • Calculate your local prayer times
  • Power the Ummah Feed, groups, and community features
  • Send Adhan call reminders (Silver members)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage data

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

3. What we never do with your data

  • We never sell your personal information — to anyone, ever
  • We never share your data with advertisers or marketing companies
  • We never run ads — not now, not in the future
  • We never track you across other apps or websites
  • We never share your prayer habits, group memberships, or religious data with anyone
  • We never send SMS messages for marketing — only account verification

Your deen is not a product. JannahCall is funded by memberships — not your attention and not your data.

4. Who we share information with

  • Apple / Google — for app delivery
  • Stripe — for payment processing only
  • Google Maps API — location used to fetch prayer times only
  • Cloudflare — for security and performance
  • AWS — server infrastructure only

5. Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the website work. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, and personal information are removed from our active systems.

7. Children under 18

JannahCall recommends users be 18 or older. Users under 18 may use the platform with parental consent. If you believe a minor is being exploited, email safety@jannahcall.com immediately.

8. Your rights

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction — fix any inaccurate information
  • Deletion — request we delete your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent — at any time

9. SMS Consent, Messaging & Opt-Out

JannahCall uses SMS solely to deliver one-time passcodes (OTP) for account verification and security. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent via SMS.

How consent is collected

During registration, users enter their phone number on the in-app Verify Account screen. Before tapping Verify, the following disclosure is shown directly below the input field: "By tapping Verify, you agree to receive a one-time passcode via SMS for account verification only. No marketing messages will be sent. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt-out or HELP for help." No SMS is sent before the user taps Verify.

Message frequency

One SMS message per verification request. We do not send recurring messages.

Messaging rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.

Data sharing

No mobile information — including phone numbers — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used exclusively for account verification. All opt-in and opt-out data is kept confidential and is never sold or shared.

Opt-out

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. You will receive one confirmation and no further SMS will be sent.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email.
